Paul Sandrock
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College (English
and Spanish, 1973) and a Master of Science degree from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison (Spanish and Curriculum &
Instruction, 1981). Paul serves as consultant for world languages
education at the Wisconsin
Department of Public Instruction (Madison, WI). Paul
has served as President of the National Council of State Supervisors
of Foreign Languages and on the boards of the Wisconsin Association
of Foreign Language Teachers (WAFLT),
Central
States Conference, Joint
National Committee for Languages, and the American Council
on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Paul received WAFLT's Distinguished Foreign Language Educator
Award (1998) and is the chief author of Planning Curriculum
for Learning World Languages (2002).

Carl Falsgraf serves as the director of
CASLS.
He finished his Ph.D. in Linguistics in 1994, writing his
dissertation on the acquisition of language and culture at
a Japanese immersion school, and began work as director of
the Japanese Language Project in the Oregon University System.
He has served as President of the
Pacific Northwest Council for Foreign Languages (PNCFL)
and is on the ACTFL
Executive Council.
