After introductions and an overview of the institute, Martie Semmer (Colorado) reviews one of the handouts participants received in their notebooks.

Martie Semmer describes the valued “risk taking” nature of a NBC candidate; Mary Stimmel followed with examples of how she has continued to be a risk taker in her professional life after receiving National Board Certification.

In the computer lab, Martie Semmer clarifies directions for exploring the NBPTS Web site while Jesse Drew, NFLRC technology graduate assistant and Webmaster, helps Tammy Pallares (Oklahoma) resolve a problem.
