Students practice greeting each other using "cangrejo" (crab) puppets.

A student greets María Isabel and shakes her hand.

Sra. Gullickson models how students will place the text in a "book" about the food chain after first pasting in pictures of the "cangrejo" (crab), "pulpo" (octopus), and "anguila" (eel). Later they will individually read to the teacher as much of the text as they are able and will receive a sticker of a sea creature.

Sra. Gullickson clarifies directions and provides individual attention to students as they color the figures of sea creatures and paste them and the text into their "books."

Grisela Lopez-Diaz, Mirna Milazzo, and Catalina Villasuso represent the elementary school foreign language program at Glastonbury Public Schools, Glastonbury, Connecticut in the continuing discussion of program models.

Arnoldo Cordero-Roman adds to the rich discussion of program models.

Jack McMullan, as part of the team that includes Linda Pesce and Diane Reilly, leads a chant describing the characteristics of the foreign language program at Prince George's County Public Schools, Maryland.

Jack McMullan juggles the elementary, middle, and high school programs to illustrate the challenges in articulating across levels.

The Prince George's County team leads a song they created in German about their foreign language program.
